Water is easy, so free, and yet overlooked by many…!
Your brain is 90% water. No kidding!
Your body is 70% water. Without it, all activities in your body will pack up!
Did you know that water is life?
Did you know water cures over 200 ailments and more in the body?
Did you know that water therapy can prevent, manage or treat various diseases?
Wow! (I got your attention)
Let us look at health management with water
A water therapy is an ideal and effective way of using water as a therapy to treat or manage some disease or maintain health equilibrium.
There is a demand and daily requirement of water which enables our body system to function optimally. There is also a pattern to be followed religiously to derive maximum benefits from water.
What proportion of water do you require daily? Scientists recommend 2-5 liters daily depending on the following states:
- Daily activity
- Body weight and body function
- Physical environment
You may have been taking less or more of water. Do yourself good by understanding your water needs and appropriate level. I suggest that you technically do a water test and know your particular average to stick to daily. (Mine is 3.5liters)
What Happens When I don’t Take Enough Water
An imbalance of water can be detrimental to your health and result in complications. Insufficient water may cause scaring of the vital organs and slow down body metabolism. A simple case of inadequate water is called dehydration – producing symptoms of headache, constipation, fever, dizziness, etc.
So next time you feel those symptoms or get that dizziness, better to first use a glass of water than reach for the killer tab!
Hydrate yourself, don’t medicate!
The rule of water therapy
- Drink slowly and moderate gulps
- Drink pure or treated water free from bacteria
- Drink tepid water (room temperature) except in weather cases or medical advice
- 1-1.5 liters of water should be taken every morning (Meals should come in after one hour)

What about too much water. Is it good for me?
Before you get to that level I bet you should know that water is free and non-addictive. The complications of overly consumption of water are rare such as bladder heaviness, brain swelling, circulatory inhibitions etc.
Remember that moderation is the sustenance of life. Inadequate water and too much of it is dangerous. Find out your water levels. Certain foods are high in water and can be helpful as well as healthier to consume with less water. Water rich foods include fruits, vegetables, special soups, tuber foods, oatmeal, and beans.
To maintain a healthy lifestyle in terms of diet, nothing comes close to water. It is an elixir. However, let it be balanced and it would open the way for vitality. So, next time you go for that glass of water, let your mind be refreshed that you are drinking life – water is life!
